Saudi Aramco Total Refining and Petrochemical (SATORP)


In September 2013, Saudi Aramco marked a major step forward for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with the first shipment of refined products processed at, and exported from, a new joint venture refinery built in Jubail, called The Saudi Aramco Total Refining and Petrochemical Co., (SATORP), the refinery is a major expansion for Saudi Aramco in downstream capabilities. With the capacity to process 400,000 barrels per day (bpd) of Arabian Heavy crude oil, SATORP is part of a broader package of investments that transform Saudi Aramco from a traditional oil and gas company into a global leader in energy and petrochemicals.

SATORP is a world-class refinery started operation in June 2014. The environmentally friendly that Jubail Refinery is producing a high proportion of white products from heavy crude oil. The refinery is one of the most advanced refineries in the world.
